Problem Solved

Problem Solved: It turns out that the disconnect order for the old address was not executed until after the connect order for the new address was scheduled, so the new address could not be connected. Now that the old address has been disconnected, my new address can be activated. Whew!

A helpful representative was able to troubleshoot the problem after I navigated the ATT phone labyrinth, and found the solution.

Greetings,

I moved this post to ATT West; my apologies for double-posting but I don't see where I can delete this one!

I'm hoping that one of the ATT techs who monitor these forums will be able to troubleshoot this problem. Last week, I moved from one apartment in Glendale California where the connection was rock-solid to another apartment about 3 miles away, and had my phone number and DSL service transferred from the old apartment to the new one. The phone line works fine...I have the same telephone number and a static-free connection. The DSL has not worked however; I have a flashing DSL light on the 2-wire modem.

The retention agent to whom I spoke assured me that the Express level of service would be available at my new apartment after sales had insisted for 3 days that my only option would be an upgrade to the U Verse tier. He stated that the DSL would be connected and live 3 or 4 days after the phone-line was moved to my new location, but as of this morning, I have no connectivity, a flashing light, and when I log into the modem (»gateway.2wire.net) I see that the Broadband Link has an incoming and outgoing speed of zero. I have tried removing the filter and connecting the modem directly to the phone jack with no other devices connected to the line, but to no avail.

I will gladly supply specifics such as phone number, user name, etc. All help will be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks.
