Re: hd updates for the Reading, Pa area

Yeah they are a great small cable operator. I was surprised at their very respectable VOD selection. They even have HD-VOD, and popular network shows on VOD right after they air.

Back to our system, I hope the DCX box runs the Tru2Way guide. In a perfect world it would be more robust, but for starters how about putting the Tru2Way I-Guide that runs on the Panasonic TV's? See it's I-Guide, but updated graphics.

Funny you were in the Poconos this past weekend - so was I! Up in Lake Harmony - saw cable trucks for Metrocast - I had no idea there was yet another cable operator up in that area.

Keep me updated on the DCX 3400, like when they are available and how you like them.

I'm curious if the guide is different. They are supposidly Tru2Way, and the Panasonic Tru2Way I-Guide looks updated, like more modernized graphics, although still the same layout.

I'm curious what the HD size is and if you can upgrade the HD with a USB 2.0 or eSATA hard drive yet. Additionally if there are any other features like MR-DVR, Remote DVR Scheduling, and native resolution pass through.
crush is only for major metro markets where they face competition from 2 other providers.

If CC is actually dolling out new HD channels tommorrow as was posted before, they are certainly taking their sweet time to announce it. I'll believe it when I see it.

I doubt it. Nothing looks changed from my last scan, except for Ch 90-10 and 90-11, which are most likely Daystar and Hallmark Movies.

Usually when there's an add, I would see some kind of change after scanning a day or two before the actual addition. They usually test things, but hey stranger things have happened. I still don't think we'll see anything this month. Wait until the end of March.

Bandwidth wise, they do have room to shuffle things around...
Example... There's only 6 SD services on Ch 117. They could easily add 6 or even 7 more to that.

Let's just say they move 103-2 through 103-8 to 117, so 117 has 13 programs on it. 103-1 has Discovery HD Theater, then there would be room to put Animal Planet HD and History HD on there.

Also there is room on Ch 94. Currently 94 only has 7 SD channels plus 3 Music Choice channels. You can actually add HD to that QAM and it would still work. Why? Proof is on Ch 93. Ch 93 has Palladia HD on it, along with 8 SD services and 9 Music Choice channels.

There's room for 3 HD channels easily, by simply doing what I stated above.

That doesn't even divulge into advanced compression such as 15:1 SD, or analog reclamation.

Oh and if an engineer is reading this, you forgot to encrypt 118-9 after the NHL free preview.

our hd updates are not related to state college at all. our feed comes from lebanon, and their feed comes from NJ. state college is from the pittsburgh area feed i believe.

It's what they call the Noc.

Not sure why they call it that. They should just call it a Noc like everyone else.

Noc = Network Operations Center
