Re: [HD] hd updates for the Reading, Pa area

2 new SD crappy channels added on 771 MHz (RF Ch 120).

263 - MIND2
264 - MHZWV

Seem to be some third rate programs which I believe are subchannels of WYBE 35. Al Jazeera was on MHZWV earlier, now it's Australian Football.

Seems like the end of the spectrum all the way out there at 771 MHz is a dumping ground for secondary must carries... (WLVT, Telefura, WYBE).

More channels I don't want

Just love these stealth channel additions,I'd be OK with it if they had moved WYBE on channel 17 to digital like they announced back in April.

This lists the channels as being on 264 and 265:

Analogs removed

I should have checked before posting,it looks like WYBE (channel 17) and C-SPAN2 (95) are gone from analog in Reading.

Yeah it Mega Hurts! Get it? Megahertz MHz!

Good find, yeah WYBE is off the dial now. That seems to be the stipulation that an analog station can move as long as they add the digital subchannels for it. Remember they did this with WLVT-39.

They should move channel 22 off to digital only. What an effing waste. It's a blue screen that says "No signal." in the upper left corner.

So there's 2 free spaces that are currently unused. Channel 7 and Channel 17. I predict that the QAM's on 113 and 114 move to 7 and 17, then QAM's 113 and 114 become DOCSIS 3.0 carriers. Just a thought, maybe.

Not sure about A28. The CSR on the phone was clueless about it.

The PSIP on the new channels is effed up.

35-4 Labeled Global
There are 2 yes 2 35-5's.
The first 35-5 is labeled WYBE-35
The second 35-5 is labeled World.
They all appear as ENCRYPTED (So much for Must Carry compliance) to my QAM tuner.
HOWEVER the diagnostics in the cable box says CLR. So the PSIP issue is making my QAM tuner think they are encrypted.

Talked to a friend who has Digital Starter with a DCT-700 and they are getting "Not Authorized" on the two new channels. They should be included in limited basic and above like all the other PBS subchannels.

Well your friend isn't missing much at all. 3rd rate, lower audio/video quality programming at best.

They work on my box, but I have Digital Platinum.

Re: [HD] hd updates for the Reading, Pa area

Anyone notice that Comcast Central does not work properly on a DCT-700? If you arrow off to one of the other windows to listen to it's audio, in about 3 seconds the screen will flash and the cursor will return to the home spot along with the default audio coming back on. This seems to be the issue on News, Kids, and Sports.

Same here on a DCT-700 but does it even matter, will Comcast Central still be around after Thursday? Will TCN go digital only and move to channel 26,what happens to QVC? why can't they put TCN HD back on 201 right now?

So many questions that will have to wait until Thursday to be answered!

@comcast.net

here in Pottsville, Channels 960 to 963 are now gone, and CSNHD is back on channel 201 even those the Guide says Off-air. so i am assuming these changes Happen in Reading and Hamburg also!!

p.s there was a little scary moment, i actually had the Tv on 963 when the signal was pulled when it when to the famous "One Moment Please" saying so, then i put on the mini guide with the 3 one line channel banner, and then a few moments later, the whole guide data for the guide system went completely blank, it said No Listings Available at this Time, but then came back on 5 minutes later with everything back on except 960 to 963, and with 201 included, this happens when your on the guide the very second that there changing everything, but they did not waste time, it went to effect at 12:13 A.M.!!!!!

Yes,in Reading the changes announced actually took place.Comcast Central is gone,TCN HD is back on 201 (it's labeled CNPHD),QVC and TCN switched channel positions and TCN is now digital only.

I don't know if this is new but I just noticed that C-SPAN2 is on channels 95 and 104,also some box menu items have shifted positions

Yeah I can confirm all the changes.

Ch 26 is now available for digital broadcasts.

Ch 95 CSPAN2 was used for Animal Planet and History HD a month ago, but just today I see CSPAN 2 also on 104. Fitting through, right next to CSPAN3.

QVC on 5...

No more Comcast Central. Not a big loss. Guide diagnostics say VRN is enabled and authorized, but master not found.

Noticed TCNHD on 201.

TCN SD is still mapped to 5-5 on my TV's QAM tuner. Not sure if that will change. Checked and channels 7 and 26 are now available for signals (didn't detect any on them yet).

Oh yeah forgot that Ch 17 is also available.

We have 7, 17, and 26 now open for service.

TCN HD is still on a mux with Redzone HD and other sports stuff that is switched in or out depending on what sporting events are running.
