i can't able to use the mod firmware 301 to dlink 615 What are you actually trying to do? Flash genuine DIR-615 with a 3.01 firmware? And you have Rev.C hardware? Then you could use just the normal firmware right from D-Link website.
The "modded" firmware is needed, if you try to flash Trendnet hardware with D-Link firmware. (The original mod was to change firmware's ID to look like Trendnet for flashing purposes.) |

| reply to tipstir Hi tipstir,
Yesterday I started with the mod firmware and flashed directly to C2/3.10NA without having to do the 30-30-30 step. I noticed the following:
1) No status light on the router;
2) After configuring port forwarding or virtual server and clicking "Save Settings", and waited for the router to finish making changes, there's no settings recorded on the router page. This is not like DLink DI-624. |

Not much has changed same 130M just the signal power. |

| reply to tipstir There seems to be a new firmware version 3.11NA available from D-link.
I updated my TEW-652BRP (which was running 3.01 firmware) to 3.11NA. So far so good. Not so many visible changes at first flance, but at least a new IPv6 status screen showing the current tunnel and IPv6 data.
said by "D-link" : DIR-615 Revision C Firmware Release Notes =====================================================
Firmware: 3.11NA Date: 07/15/09
1. Fixed Web filter issue. 2. Disabled CAPTCHA by default. 3. Fixed setting domain name issue. 4. Change MAC address fields to allow beginning values other than 00 (eg: 08:00:46:EE:D1:C8). 5. Fixed Application Rules function. 6. Fixed pop-up error when editing Access Control Rules in schedule step (IE7). 7. Fixed Uplink speed Field so that it cannot be saved with blank. 8. Fixed cannot run Web Filter and MAC filtering at the same time issue. 10. Link-local only for IPv6 issue. 11. CAPTCHA security hole closed. 12. Manual Uplink speed issue. Max transmission rate should be between 20 kbps and 100 Mbps. 13. WPS pin and Default Pin are reset to 0000000000 when "Reset to Unconfingured Mode" button is clicked, in advanced wireless tab. 14. Custom WPS Pin configuration is retained. 15. Fixed turn on virtual server with schedule will cause internet access failure. 16. Fixed schedule over midnight issue. 17. Bittorrent certified. 18. 3 edits | Hey thanks! I had to dig out the old TEW-652BRP out of crate in the garage. Did the 30/30/30 - reflash it I didn't bother to do another 30/30/30 on it though, just power off and on method on the second step. It seems gone is the wrong hardware version C2 now it's correct C1. That fixed some other issues. Now 150mbps TX and RX 300mbps. Pretty stong at 92%. I'll place this in use for now. DIR-655 try to see if that one will work. I can tell you that using DIR-615 C1 3.11NA firmware you need to use DNS Relay Enabled and SPI off that works in AP mode.
DIR-615 even though it's not a GIG switch the wireless is the same one in the DIR-825 (350MHz 16MB) will the 2.4GHz side of it. 400MHz with 32MB of RAM on this TEW-652BRP. |

| No deal after 3.5 days runs so hot you can fry and egg on the unit (grin) the unit becomes unless where you can't even see it on the list of available wireless AP points. Back in the crate it goes until DD-WRT comes out with a firmware for it or something else... |

After upgrading to dir615_revC_firmware_311NA, did you try to revert back to Trendnet TEW-652BRP_FW110B08? If yes, how did you do it? I followed your steps (including 30-30-30 hard reset). The status light on the router blinking (is this recovery mode?), but I can't access 192.168.0.1 (I can't ping either). I'm using Windows XP and IE ver 6.0. It seems that the newest firmware doesn't allow you to downgrade.
Thanks in advance. |

No you can't downgrade with D-LINK firmwares anymore so your stuck with current firmware. Plus the Trendnet firmware was lousy didn't have much features it was just basic. Be very care not to break the router otherwise you'll have to buy another one. |
