I like it. I road in a non hybrid version of that car (same color even), and it was not bad. Comments on the ride feel with the different powerplant? -- Making procrastination an art form since Pluto was still a planet. |

They could have lifted the CD Player a bit so that everything else could go up. Otherwise you're looking down and bending your head trying to find the lower buttons. But hey what do you expect. |

One note about the color, it looks black, but it's really green. You can really only see the green in the sun. It's a really nice color -- at least I like it.
It drives really well and similar to the ICE version; it's actually quite peppy and fun to drive. The better comparison is to our 2005 Escape hybrid (the first year Ford made a hybrid). Ford made a lot of improvements to the hybrid system.
Our Escape always fires up the ICE when you start it and it will shut off when the engine warms up. The Fusion starts in electric mode (no engine starting) and that takes a bit to get used to. My guess is that the ICE will start right away in the winter. I'll find out in a few months.
The Fusion transition from ICE to EV and back is smoother than our Escape. In addition, the Fusion can do 45 mph in EV mode, while the Escape will do a bit over 30.
The Escape requires the ICE to be running for AC, the Fusion has an electric air conditioner. Kind of a double edge sword if you're trying to really max the MPG, but overall, I like the electric AC better.
And I guess it's to be expected as the Escape is a SUV, but the Fusion is much smoother and quieter as far as driving goes.
Ford made a lot of improvements their hybrid system over the past five years and it really shows.
So far the Escape has been getting 30-33 MPG city and the Fusion was doing 42.5 MPG city the last time I drove it.
I'm really happy with the car. I love the Sync and the LCD instrument cluster. Of course, I only have 200 miles on it so time will tell! -- "I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm." |

| reply to J Sun The interior design is fine. I'm 6'7" so I look down on everything which is why it may look low to you. I find it best to use the steering wheel controls or tell Sync what to do. -- "I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm." |

| reply to Mickeyme My New 20 Year-Old Car
Those of you who are familiar with my previous postings know I like older style ( 80's ) Lincoln Town Cars. I have a 1986 using as a daily driver and I have a 1981 that is not on the road yet and I'm working on it when time allows and I am always on the look out for older excellent condition Town Cars.
Well I just purchased another one..A MINT 1989 Town Car..the 89 was the last year before they changed the design starting with the 90 model year.
This was quite a find..The original owner purchased the car new here on Long Island in 1989 and kept it garaged and hardly used it. She passed away and her family would back the car out of the garage to wash it and then put it back in. A guy purchased it from the family last December and he is like myself, an older vehicle auto enthusiast, so I purchased it from him and closed the deal this past Wednesday night..I registered it and put plates on it yesterday and it drives like new...
62k original miles, original paint, everything works..all the bells and whistles work, cold A/C. engine and tranny are perfect, blue leather interior is mint as well as the trunk.
The only thing the guy I bought it from did was install an aftermarket stereo but I have the original that came with the car as well as all manuals, paper work and even the window sticker. The background checks on the car all came up clean as expected....
After serious week long negotiations I purchased it for the sum of $3k even....A steal IMO for such a beautiful Town Car in mint condition. No leaks...no issues..
Here are some photos I just took of it. |

| sweet deal sailor! it reminds me of the lincoln continental my mom had about 20 years ago or so. I believe it was a 77. it was a dull lime green color. nicknamed the "stinkin lincoln" it had the smoothest ride of any car i've ever driven or ridden in. felt like driving a footlong but many memories were created. I can remember being in the car when the miles rolled over to zero again -- | map your city | tweet | |
