They really were massive spammers, my personal email account and our work spam filter saw a dramatic decrease in spam over the last couple of weeks.
I'd like to know how they came back online briefly? Did the Russian Mob (or whoever is controlling the botnets) threaten or bribe a network engineer at Telia Sonera to bring the network back online? Or is McColo just trying to restore their business because they haven't been charged with a crime? |

| According to one article I read on the matter, Telia was a backup provider for McColo in case of a massive network failure. McColo sat out for 4 days probably figuring no one works on Saturday and ramped up their backup connection on Saturday morning thinking no one will do anything until Monday. |

I've seen a major decrease on two of my email accounts. Not that it matters anyways, because the filters work damn well. |

as far as i know, they don't need to be charged with a crime for their internet connection to be pulled, until they find a new ISP. i'm pretty sure every ISP as something that resembles an 'acceptable use policy' and voilating it could result in the termination of services. |
