| Maybe Chicago is next for DOCSIS 3.0??
According to this Article
If competition is a driver, one possible, next market for Comcast's Docsis 3.0 rollout is Chicago, where it is matched up with RCN Corp. 's "Analog Crush" initiative and the AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) U-verse service. (See RCN's 'Analog Crush' .) Comcast might also have channels to spare for Docsis 3.0 in the Windy City, as it's also one of the first properties to benefit from Comcast's "all-digital" analog bandwidth reclamation project.See Comcast Spreads the Love |

| Chicago also happens to be one of the areas I believe where we have had a few people report increased upload PowerBoost speeds. I haven't seen any reports from PA, but at least one post that I saw recently is showing the higher symbol rate on the upload (DocSIS 2.0 level). Could be they've always been running at that rate in that area, or more fodder for speculation...
Now, if I could just figure out a way for them to turn back on my normal upload PowerBoost... I think I'm going to have to call, I don't know why, but its just not something I'm looking forward to... |

Nothing on any of the web pages to indicate D3 or the change from 6/1 to 12/2.
Email, well that's a wash here. I have yet to get an email about the 3mbps service 3 or 4 years ago.
Maybe Comcast has reverted to making Cali one of the last again. -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

RCN is not that big in Chicago compared to Comcast or AT&T. Also Comcast has almost always had its massive Chicago area upgraded at the beginning of the line. We got almost everything updated right away.
In order of area coverage in Chicago:
Comcast AT&T RCN WOW(Wide Open West)
You are lucky to get one in an area though. I just got a letter from AT&T about 8 days ago telling me DSL became available in Chicago.
WOW refuses to service my area as well and RCN is nowhere to be seen. |

I don't know why would DSL just became available all the sudden for you. For me DSL availability was determined by the range to the main station. I'm about 1 mile out of range and the demand was too low to install a remote hub for my area |
