Keep in mind this is strictly for instancing and leveling from 70-80. |

I did a little bit of reading about the new pet abilities and came away thinking bear for leveling and Silithid for PvP. Bear for swipe which replaces my owl's aoe screech and Silithid for it's poison/root ability. |

thats what i'm gonna try when the servers come back up. Absolutely! I saw a hunter in the PTR on (the terrace in SMV above BT. What's it called?) round up a whole row of demon hunters with her gorilla and volley them after 2 thunderstomps. I know she was BM though and that had something to do with it.
The only thing I'd use to replace my gorilla is a rhino.
As for PVP, I used both the devilsaur and the chimera and chimera won. I swear by froststorm, amen. I didn't try a corehound though, so can't comment there. |

Devilsaur and Core Hound are both DPS pets. People are still testing to see which one is "better". Chimerea and Silithids are "Cunning" pets, which leans more towards PvP.
granted, these are exotic pets, so only beastmaster specced hunters will have them. There will be a lot to start with, but I think a lot of people will go back to the specs they are more comfortable with after playing with them for a while.

I know that to start with I'm going to go with some sort of MM spec, probably MM/SV or 100% MM. There are so many cool new toys to play with though, and I have a feeling that the expansion will come well before anyone can work out the best specs for lvl 70.
I don't expect to see any of the new cookie cutter specs until closer to Christmas or even sometime next year.
I know that Blizzard have already said they're going to fix a few hunter problems with yet another patch sometime after the expansion. |
