I've had this router since 5/2008. Thought I had it set up correctly, seemed to be working fine. Now all of a sudden my Dell XPS400 (connected to it by wire-not wireless) began to lose connection to the internet. When I fire up the broadband checkup program provided by my ISP (Windstream DSL) it says the Speedstream 4200 modem can't communicate with the router and that I should disconnect it. When I do, the modem will resync and I am back online. It's done this about 6 times in the last 6 weeks. It would be only a minor annoyance, but for the fact that I cannot connect to the server at work when this happens. Is this a known problem? Any recommendations? BTW-I uninstalled the Linksys software that came with the unit. IMHO it was buggy and I didn't like how it ran on my system...but maybe that's just me. Thanks for any assistance. |
