Installing an ATA: SPI DMZ & QOS Questions.

If I put the ATA (via IP address) into the DMZ of the router will that bypass SPI? If not, should I turn off SPI to get a better connection? Will QOS work if I put the ATA in the DMZ? I'm thinking of giving the ATA the highest QOS via IP address. Ugh! I don't think that I've ever written anything with so many acronyms in my life.

It can be made to work, but for better results and less aggravation get a sip aware router. ddWRT-voip can be loaded on some Netgear routers and includes a sip aware component.

ImpetusEra join:2004-05-19 00000	reply to EarloftheWes No need for a SIP aware router for one ATA. Give it high priority by IP and forward the ports as specified by the provider to the ATA.
