anon : I seem to be having serious issues with the accuracy of this app.

When performing the speed test in "All" mode, it reports GPRS as being faster than 3G!

When using 3G in "All" mode it is consistently reporting the download speed as 118Kb/s (approx) and upload speed of 60Kb/s, meanwhile it is reporting GPRS as a download speed of 300Kb/s and upload of 9Kbit/sec.

This is clearly bogus as GPRS can't achieve anywhere near 300Kbit/sec, 30-40Kb/sec is all you could expect on GPRS.

From watching the screen it seems that the download sessions are aborted early when testing GPRS (network issues perhaps ?) but the app is then assuming that the download is complete and calculating the speed based on that with no regard for the fact that less than 1/10 of the download actually completed - a bug.

Also when testing 3G I consistently get 118Kbit down, 60Kbit up in "ALL" mode, even though I know my connection is faster than that. If I do the "Download" only test the speed averages around 860Kb/sec - with peaks as high as 1.7Mbit/sec.

Clearly something wrong here as well with the very low reported speed in "All" mode.

Any ideas anyone ?
