| DIR-655 New firmwares 1.21b04 and 1.21b05_nosecurespot
Ok today someone pointed out that dlink released a 1.21b05 firmware for the DIR-655.
It appears that has now been pulled and replaced with 1.21B04 and 1.21B05_noscecurespot
»ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655/Firmware/
Who wants to brave the test and whats the difference. Why don't they include change logs or something with the zips? |

| Firmwares 1.21B05 and 1.21B05_noscecurespot have the same exact MD5 hash, so the only change is file name.
Firmware 1.21B04 is the exact same code as B05, but it includes SecureSpot feature. |

It is important to mention that this is not a free service, it only gives you a 30 day trial with your router. |

I can't download this.. Either it's my lock down tight security on this system or I'll have to use another system. If you go into the sub folders of dlink FTP you can see this is still beta.

But you can enjoy the SharePort manual on the DIR-825 support page:

| reply to dcurrey You guys like to play dangerously with beta firmware until they get it to alpha stage I'll wait and see. No rush to make everything unstable. Now if I had an extra DIR-655 A3 to test on then I don't care. Sounds good with your new features.. To use the USB for other than WC would be great! |

| heh, not again. Computer related releases go pre-alpha (like "technology demo" or otherwise test), then alpha, beta, RC (release candidates), and finally the real thing (full of bugs anyway). LOL
So "SecureSpot" lives, eh? Wow, thought was a goner. Still a fee for that, is there?
Anyway, sticking with 1.12 here because "Internet Connection" not appearing in XP's Network Connections with 1.2x says to me that UPnP support is bugged, not properly supporting what it should and therefore probably badly affecting something somewhere. |

| reply to tipstir Interesting that it was available for download on the support site yesterday as a final release (not beta) and today it's gone!
»support.dlink.com/products/view.···IR%2D655
It's even been pulled from the FTP site »ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655/Firmware
What the H*** is D-Link doing? Looks like they're still releasing firmware BEFORE it's been adequately tested and then pulling it after receiving a sufficient number of customer complaints. |
