| If I ran the Boston radio dial...........
List out what changes you would make to the radio dial in the boston area..
Heres what i would do:
1) NO STATIONS WOULD TRANSMIT IBOC (Am or Fm) in the boston market
Other changes i would make
.59 - Keep same (Country music/special programming on the weekends)
.68 WRKO -- No changes except bring back howie carr.. (Didnt he end last year on WRKO?)
.85 - WEEI - Keep the same
1.03 - WBZ - Keep same
1.06 WBIX - Keep the same
1.09 WILD - R&B (Like they used to be in the 80s and 90s (Arent they playing hip hop now??))
1.57 - All left wing discussions (Like KB 15 in buffalo)
93.7 - The Eagle (They were good)
94.5 - SMOOTH R&B (None of that hip hop garbage anymore)
96.1 - The same
103.3 - Move the calls back to WHTT (Seeing as there is no limits on more than 1 call anymore (If its in a different market) and play the 80s like they were...
103.7 - BACK TO WRX -- (WOULD STILL BE THE BEST THEY WERE BEFORE BEING SOLD (Ah do i miss them))
107.3 - WAAF -- (Would still be as good as they were 5 years ago before going down hill)
107.9 - Indie Rock (College type music) |

Howie is still on WRKO.
WFNX 101.7 and ROCK 101.1 (NH) fit my needs for alternative. WBCN is on as a standby. I never listen to the radio shows anymore though. |

Thats good to know!!! (I heard he was going OFF wrko last september..Maybe they re-considered dumping the show)
And yes 104.1 in 1984 WAS THE THING!!!!!!! (WBCN was awesome)
101.7 isnt as good as 103.7 was (When they were WRX (The show at night and "After hours with slater" was the best!!)) |

I lived in one of those massive old estate houses in the Berkshires as a kid in the 1960's.
I can remember stringing a lot of speaker wire, adding any number of wire coat hangers and a lot of aluminum foil, and hanging the whole contraption out the fourth floor window to pick up WAAF.
Looked strange, but it worked.
