Mobo question....

If I am trying to build a machine that will last me around 3 years and won't be doing any overlocking... would any mobo do?

I have seen builds listed here... but I really don't know the differences between a mobo that is say $89.99 and one that is over $200...

I will probably just be getting these two main things...

»www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···19115017 as far as processor... and

»www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···14129112 as far as video card...

Does it really matter much which motherboard I get (as long as it accepts the processor obviously)

well if you dont have prefrence in chip set and not knowing what your budget is,i say get a mobo from either gigabyte or asus as they are the best and i would look at the p35,p45 and x38 chips each one has diffrent features and perforamnce and range in price

myself personally with my q6600 and i use a asus x38 chip mobo but cost more.if your on a budget go with a p35 chip

Wait until this november when Intel releases Nehalem. If you buy a system now it won't last nearly as long as a Nehalem system will only 3-4 months from now.

With not much of difference in price.... I am guessin I am better off getting the one with the firewire on board... since I use it a lot?
