I really enjoy living here. I'm a little bummed out that I'm down to my last few months of school and most of the work that I have been looking at is in Odessa, TX. More than anything I like the people and the general atmosphere. |

| alg , believe me, Austin (and the surrounding area) was a lot better 20-30 years ago. Back then there were a lot of hippies still here that knew that "laid back" was the way to live. Now, everybody seems to be in the "get out of my way or I'll run over you" mode. We used to be able to go into Austin to movies, plays, dinner out, etc. Now, we don't even bother to try. |

| I don't doubt you at all about that. It makes me blue to see all the high rises going up and to have places like Guadalupe St. transformed into a corporate run outdoor shopping mall that is nothing like it used to be and every time I see those things I realize that Austin is being transformed into just another city. That said there are still pockets of "old" Austin around and while there may not be as many as there used to be it still beats Houston (and Odessa) by a long shot. |
