mp3 player with file system structure?

Which MP3 player holds mp3s in file system structure as I have on my PC?

Like many players import the .mp3 files and organize by artist etc...

I just want to browse my own folders and files as they are on my HD...

My iRiver H340 does this (acts also as a portable HD...) but it's aging...

Thank you...

My Cowon D2 has filetree navigation. And it's an excellent player.

Most mp3 players do this as they are simply flash storage devices. You run into problems with devices like Ipods and Zunes as they use software for loading data.

Any player that runs Rockbox will give you a choice of viewing your data via database or file (directory) formats. The database mode will list by artist, album, etc., while the file format allows you to navigate the entire file system, even non-media files. The beauty of Rockbox is that it allows you to be as geeky or hands-off as you want to be - there are themes that require nearly zero ability besides selecting and listening, and there are others that nearly require a software engineer to interpret all the options available.
My Sansa e270 costs $45 refurbished, and it comes with 6 MB of storage space, with Rockbox installed it is one of the best values I've ever encountered in digital electronics.
