| Switching home Phone form Bell to Teksavvy, a few questions.
Bell just raised the price their call waiting service and that was the last straw for me. I'm sick of having to call in every month for them to correct their own mistakes on the bill, and now they raise prices? Enough of that, lol
Question 1. What is the best way to go about switching the home phone? Should I call Bell and cancel first, or Call teksavvy, then call bell, or does Teksavvy cancel with bell for me? I want to keep my existing number etc.
2. Since Bell's prices went up for call waiting etc. will teksavvy's prices be going up any time soon, or are they staying the same as what the website says? |

| Hey there,
We will take care of the cancellation will Bell. All you have to do is place an order to "port" your service over to us. I would however suggest calling Bell to verify if you are under a contact with them. They might require you to give them some notice. If this is the case, we can place an order dated for the number of days you need to give notice.
We have no plans at this time to up our prices. So call display is still $3.00 / month.
Hope this helps!

I am not under a contract with bell, but I've paid up until the end of September as they charge you a month in advance. |

| reply to TSI Andre said by TSI Andre :Then just give us a call and place an order with us... Just got off the phone, everthing will be switched over in 5 business days. It took a total of 13min including wait time from the time I dialed the number to the time I hung up the phone.
With bell I'd still be stuck in the automated system, saying "English" 20 times swearing at the computer generated voice.
I don't have a contract with bell, they said they "ask" for 30 days notice for cancellation, but then again I "asked" to only be billed for the service I asked for, but I guess we don't always get what we ask for, especially with bell.
I will actually get more features and still save $3.00/ month with teksavvy home phone. |

| said by TSI Andre :Good to hear about the savings! $$$ Ya, I figured it would be about the same price wise, I was just too lazy to actually make the switch.
But Bell raised their rates on the extra features like call waiting and the thing that pissed me off is they tried to back charge me for last month on this bill.
When it was all said and done it works out to a savings of 3.00/ month over bell and I added another feature (call display). So I am getting more features with teksavvy and it is still cheaper.
And even though I don't use long distance calling much, it is only 2.9c/minute for all calls in north America, and there is no fee for that rate.
I've already been trying to convince my parents to switch their internet service, maybe they'll finally make the switch when I tell them about the home phone savings as well.
EDIT: Does teksavvy still get discounts for referrals? |

| reply to DjEclipse Bell started out with all 3 of my services, Internet, phone and TV. I am lazy, all they had to do to keep me as a customer is give me what I paid for, no more and certainly no less. In the end all they did was take away my internet, over charge me for everything, so much that I gbot off my lazy ass and actually switched.
Now, with teksavvy it is simple, I get a bill through e-mail, it is for the correct amount every time, the service I a paying for is as promised, I pay the bill on time and everyone is happy.
When is teksavvy getting into the sattelite business so I can switch that over as well. |

| reply to DjEclipse Just to update this thread.
My Phone was switched over yesterday and was flawless. Checked it when I got home form work, call waiting, call display works and I'm now a teksavvy phone (as well as internet)customer.
Over the weekend I also switched my GF/s father's internet and phone form Bell to teksavvy. |
