Firmware problem

Hi,
I stupidly tried to update my firmware via my wireless laptop. Of course I now realise that it should have been wired!!

I have followed all the advice on the netgear site (set up a static ip etc) but i cant get past the ping test because the 'request is timed out'

where am I going wrong?

Sorry my PC skills are fairly limited.
