Re: Stalker: Clear Sky Patch Released...Before Game Release

Looks like the game is really buggy...

That's a new review just published today (12th). I came to the game late and only ever played the original Stalker in XP. The entire experience was bug free and I was happy since I had read nothing but bug threads. I have the game pre-ordered so I might be waiting awhile to install it in hopes of keeping up my so far so good experience with Stalker.

I got it yesterday from Newegg, who apparently has no problem shipping the game before it's been released. I played for about three hours and experienced one crash. However, when I finished I realized that a second patch had been released. When I installed it, I discovered that my previous saves would not work! Since I was only a few hours in, I'm not that upset. However, if you get the game you might want to hold off on installing new patches released after you start playing, until they make them work with your old saves.

So far, the game is fun and looks great. It reminds me very much of the original, but seems to have more group fighting than before. (For instance, you and a bunch of guys are fighting together.)
