I'm not 100% sure, but if I were to venture a guess, it would be "hey, let's go check out the waves at the seawall".

Probably more like "hey, let's go check out the waves at the seawall and get killed by the hurricane!"

Where I went to college we had times where we would have around 12 hours of 110+ mph winds. It is amazing and dangerous to walk around in such an environment but of course it was too interesting not too. As a younger man I would probably look for a little adventure as well. Dangerous? Yes but hey most adventures are and there is still a way out for a few more hours. Not condoning but I understand.

I do find it to be a bit hypocritical that the reporters are criticizing the people walking on the sea wall yet these are the same knuckleheads who stand out there with their back turned to the sea just to get some attention.

Did anyone else see the guy in the bear suit running around behind the reporter on channel 11?

Yeah I agree, they interview the people basically saying "You are crazy for being here!" as their own hats are blowing away. Not in all cases do the people turn around and go into a residential structure, many are doing just what they are doing, just going out to check out the scene,

On KTRK earlier today the reporter in the studio was aghast at how many people were dring up and down the seawall. Well if the stations would find something else to show then the idiots wouldn't have thought of it. Sort of like throwing a pack of fire crackers into a campfire to show what happens and then being surprised when all the teenage boys do the same thing.

Sometimes I think the new people need to stick to the news.

I watched the coverage on MSNBC until the wee hours of the morning. More than once, reporters lost their balance when the wind proved to be too much.
