| They Were being managed by John Gibbons back then and now Cito Gaston Who actually knows something about running a baseball team both on and off the field is taking care of business |

| Granted Cito should have been there much earlier, but they do this every year, when they're out of it.
The true test will be if they can do something next year with him, cause Holliday must be getting PO'ed with this team, and if they lose him...well. -- ~~Get our troops home...now!!~~ |

| I've been impressed with Travis Snider of late as well. I don't think he's hit that well this weekend, but he has very good mechanics and he's only 20! Even with the impending departure of AJ Burnett, this team will still have a decent pitching staff next year: Doc, Purcey, Litsch, Marcum & McGowan. And I just checked the standings, we're ahead of the Yankees for now! |

| reply to HiVolt If the Jays continue to play the way they have been, they could still get in there sitting only 8 out of a wild card spot. I think they have like what 23-24 games left to play and all these teams they play are just above 500. So they still stand a wild card chance of getting in.

Jays need to win almost all 20 and need some serious help for them make it.

3.53 team ERA and in third place, too bad the Jays offense didn't showup this year. Looks like no one in the lineup is going to reach 80RBI's this year. --

| reply to ZZZZZZZ 1.3% chance of the Wildcard according to ESPN.COM's Coolstandings ...
More than the Yankees at this point (0.4%) having a chance at the playoffs so...yeah I'll take my 1.3%...consider it was just 0.5% this time last week.
In theory, it has to go a little something like this. The Jays still have 7 games left against Boston. If the Jays go 7-0 and sweep Boston, both 4 in Boston and 3 in Toronto, they would have a legitimate shot at it as that'd leave them just 1 game back of Boston (not-withstanding what Minnesota does).
If they don't go 7-0...then they're done like dinner...
The odds of going 7-0 are remote, but it is Baseball, the game where you can be down 4-3 in the bottom of the 13th with 2 outs and still SOMEHOW win 7-4....Show me any other sport where that can happen. That's why I love baseball, you have to play All 27 outs before the game is over...in Hockey, you're down 4-2 with 2 minutes left, its a miracle if you can come back to tie...not so in Baseball. |

How about never going to happen,at best it will be a split and 4-3 in Boston'e favor.

It's highly unlikely, but with the Jays are playing right now, you can't say it's impossible. |
