comcast in bay area (San Mateo country)?

i'm thinking about swapping to comcast, but i would like to know what experiences people have had and how to get the best deal? i'm currently thinking about getting cable and high speed internet @ the same time. i don't need a lot of channels but as long as i get the chinese channels i'm fine.

what kind of speeds are you getting and how's the connection? what fees are you charged for during installation? any negative experiences?

For everyone..everywhere..on one thing or another.

You can prolly get great speeds, waive the install, etc

Actul download speed on Blast service 17.3mbps
Cable TV rates are raising everywhere for everyone.
Even Sat keep raising their rates
HSI hasn't had a price hike in the 5 years I have had it, but the speeds have multiplied several times!

Speeds? Here in Hercules, CA, I have Blast(16mbps @ $52.95 per month) and I get sustained 17.3mbps downstream and 2.2mbps upstream - all day long.
NEVER trust speed tests!

The connection? Bullet-proof.

REMEMBER, all areas/markets can be different!
Overall, most subscribers are happy with the service.

Installation was 5 years ago and with the promo it was free installation and $19.99 for 6 months.
Cable TV was connected YEARS ago - also no install charge.

Call and see what deals they have going currently for your area

There's a search for 'ISP reviews 'near' your ZIP' feature at the ^^^Find Service^^^ link, up there. At least, it's up there, here.
