| [XP Pro] Checkdisk on 2nd HD While Still Using Computer OK?
Hi, Is it OK to continue to use one's computer while running Checkdisk (Scandisk for XP) on a hard drive that doesn't contain the OS?
My computer is allowing me to do it, and all seems fine, but I was wondering if it was possibly a problem. I'm not trying to access anything that is on the hard drive that is being checked. Thanks. |

| How do you know when you are using a particular program and that particular program is not accessing/using the drive that you are CHKDSK'ing on?
Better be safe than sorry. -- I used to be indecisive, now I am not sure. |

| Hi, The second HD only has some music files on it I think. I have a 3rd HD also that I only use for Acronis True Image backups.
I don't think they would get accessed, but I'm not sure.
If they were, would that screw up the Chkdsk? |
