Post your line stats . By taking it off interleaved you may make the line unstable and have it crashing every so often . The techs are not going to change it if it becomes unreliable. |

| ATT SE TECH RING A BELL .....if the line is on that platform there is only 1 problem the line is kicking errors NO OTHER REASON........(1.. the dsl port is bad )tech can change (2.. the cabel is unbalanced,db's are low or.. 2 far from dslam, inside problem )all a tech can find out when he gets there . |

| I suspect there is a problem causing interleaving. Frequent disconnects were remedied with a new modem, but the modem was almost certainly not the actual culprit of the problem. Like posted above, post your line stats, I bet we'll see some problem there. |

This is incorrect. Since TS Fay sideswiped my area, my DSL line has switched over to interleaved twice. Both times I was originally on fast path with good stats (not excellent, but definitely not noisy) and my CRC errors/discard packets were minimal. The first time I called up TS I was able to get one of the off-shore techs to easily and painlessly switch me back to fast path (with the DSG's help, of course). I snapshotted the stats and ran a line monitor, and then sure enough just last weekend there was some sort of power blip here. The modem (on a protector, not a UPS) resynched on interleaved and the stats were actually worse than they were on fast path (even with MaxSync).
This seems to be a more prominent issue in older areas since the uVerse roll-out was supposed to start in this area. It isn't, however, an immediate condemnation of the last mile of copper or anything inside the customer's premises, but in fact appears to be some sort of tech-burp on Bell's side. |
