anon : Filing under Word was an error and I was too tired to refile properly, which I will do shortly. To answer your question, I am using XP Home. Last night I downloaded WMP 11 but still cannot view the videos - window says "The Player might not support the file type or a required codec might not be installed on your computer." Don't understand because I used to be able to view them via WMP, Quicktime, you name it. Thanks for your help.

anon : Howdy,

Got a problem. Suddenly - or perhaps since my hard drive crashed and I purchased and installed a new one from Dell - I cannot view videos in my computer that I downloaded off both my Kodak Easyshare camera and my Sony digital camcorder. When I try to open a file, a window opens and states "WMP cannot play file. File may be formatted with an unsupported codec or Internet security is set too high..." I did not have this problem before and am confused. How could I not have a supported codec or whatever the problem is? I did download AVS Moviemaker and that allowed me to view the videos but my computer has been so sluggish that I just removed AVS hoping that will speed it up. Any suggestions? Thanks a ton!
