| CRTC Decision
Hello,
Whats the update on the CRTC Decision?
I can almost guarnatee that the decision will side with telecoms, why? Becouse you have not done enough. At the end of the day Telcomes will argue this: look the throttle has been in for 5 months, people complain, but its nothing major. Everyone just goes about, so its a no biggie, keep it on. BTW here is that 500k from our friends in the Music and Movie industry. |

Hello,
Whats the update on the CRTC Decision? only update that can be seen is that CIPPIC, PIAC and the Quebec Consumer Union want Bell and ONLY Bell to pay all legal costs that are climbing daily (last read it was at or near 45K), excluding CAIP (CAIP's Bill scares me).
Bell fired back that the costs should be shared by the those who have the biggest stake (ie Bell and CAIP). Yet we know the SOLE stake holder who wants this is Bell.
The CRTC did not reply.
CAIP did not submit a Bill asking the CRTC to tell Bell to pay it... yet, if they do.
Thats the only update so far.
"The decision" is "supposed" to come on Halloween.
Will this be tossed back if there is an election... no clue.
If the NDP come in, they will take care of this on the ministry (industry) level. |

| The CRTC letter of August 8th deals in the decision process ( »www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Lette···808c.htm )
The other link for everything is here ( »www.crtc.gc.ca/PartVII/eng/2008/···5153.htm ) and CAIP definitely has an answer to the September 2nd letter from Bell, it just isn't posted yet.
As for the rest of things you've just posted... no clue.

Of course, I noted that Telus, Rogers, and Cisco all seem to side with Bell- all companies that have money to lose. XD |

Comcast has decided to appeal the FCC ruling against it re: throttling and restricting traffic. Knowing our CRTC, they will now "delay" their decision to hear what our southern Big Brother has to say on the matter. |

| reply to CRTC Rocky,
I have been having phone problems this week. Because Bell is out my internet has been wonky too! I've had two Bell technicians around. The last guy was really good. (I will protect his identity.) He stated that three of the new condo towers going up at Yonge & Finch in Toronto have the new IPTV service. The users of this service are seeing 25 Mbps service on their connections.
So the service has been launched and is in the early testing mode. |

| 25 Mbps ? Is that adsl 2+ in the downtown fiber-loop ? Is that the "expressvu" service bell was advertising months ago, for condos and apartment buildings ? - »www.connectyourspace.com/
I'm sure this has been posted before, but it makes me feel a bit better that CBC released a show using bit torrent and later posted news stories how ISPS were throttling the download.

@teksavvy.com | reply to ultracat Because the FCC was too stupid to slap them with a fine in the billions. Maybe the FCC will reconsider and fine them somewhere on the order of 2.5 billion dollars. |

| reply to CRTC Well, if the CRTC _does_ demand that CAIP takes part in the costs process, couldn't the "consumers groups" whom most of us have never heard of before just not cash the cheques?
Of course, if it does get split 50/50, then the various groups would be out "half" of their inflated hourly charges if they take such a stance. |

The Cisco submission was nothing more than shameless promotion of their network management equipment and this never should have been allowed by the CRTC. Cisco's only concern is loss of sales revenue. |
