Should be a blast if Hanna keeps stalling. I have watched the Blue Angels perform in a light shower a few times, so there is a chance that the show will be worth attending regardless of the forecast.
quote: Q - What happens if it rains? A In the event of rain some flying demonstrations may have to be canceled. However, unless the weather poses a serious threat to the safety of the visitors and participants the show will proceed as scheduled.

The Blue Angels & Thunderbirds are to me kinda like the Grand Canyon -- everyone should see them at least once. Pretty likely the Thunderbirds will go on last, around 2 pm or later, but I'm just guessing. Admission is free, and motorcycles get VIP parking up front (as it should be )
Last time I saw them there, it would have been good to watch from the parking lot, then bug out immediately afterward to beat the traffic. |

| said by Grumpy :Looks like Westover should be a go for Sunday My brother-in-law tried to go today...he couldn't even get near the place. He said they were - literally - parked on the Mass Pike, with the engine off, for half an hour. After about an hour-and-a-half of moving about 1/4 mile they decided to bag it and go drink beer at The Prince (to my fortune, he brought back a growler for me...)
It's a great show, but...
Next year we'll take the R1100RS and enjoy the beautiful ride... |

| I was at all of them... saw and toured aboard the B17, B24 and shot lots of video. Eight hours on the tarmac at Oxford.
Then went to Westover on the early morning of the 7th and shot for 6-1/2 hours until the show ended. The Westover video is now online »exposureroom.com/airshow
Still catching up on the Oxford video editing. And getting ready to film the Whitewood/Molly Hatchet concert Thursday night.
Was also filming the Governor's Horse Guard open house event last Sunday. Sure felt more like July than September that day!
Maybe I'll head up to Rhinebeck, NY for some more air shows. Generating hundreds of gigabytes of hi-def video and running out of space to put it all! |
