[Vista] Chrome browser and Java

I am trying Google's new Chrome browser and it's lightning fast compared to IE7 and IE8 Beta 2. I can't 'see' Java though, and Java's website does not include Chrome among supported browsers.
Anyone have news on this or is it just the beta stage?

Since the browser was just 'released' (still beta) today, I would imagine that it will take a bit for plugin support. At least IMHO.

No, the Java works fine but Chrome needs a particular version which is currently a release candidate.

I downloaded and installed Sun's Java 6 version 10 Early Access (release candidate/beta) »java.sun.com/javase/downloads/ea.jsp and all worked fine.

You will need to upgrade to Java 6 update 10 RC for Chrome to recognise the JRE.

I must be doing something wrong...

I thought I followed Skeedatl and Sanjay's advice. I d/l and installed (twice) the Java, but I still get a message on the Pogo gaming site asking if I want to install Java when I try to open a game. This same thing happened on the Safari browser as well.
I would rather use Chrome as it is noticibly faster than IE7 or the IE8 beta I tried, so if there's any further help I would surely appreciate it.
Thanks!
Dan

Update to Google Chrome fixed Java Issue

I was exploring Chrome and found out how to check for updates. One was available and, after downloading, the Java issue was resolved.
