| Internet Video Trial Sign Up
has anybody signed up for the "Internet Video Trial"?Is this a waste of time if you don't have the 1.6 upgrade.

| reply to AFX I just signed up. We'll see what happens.
For the record, DO NOT use Safari to complete the second part of the registration -- you can sign to be eligible to do trials, but when I tried signing up for the video trial Safari would not actually go to the next page after I entered all my info, Firefox worked fine. |

| reply to AFX I signed up... They are sending me a new DVR with 'beta' software on it... It was supposed to arrive by 8/30 via DHL but has not yet gotten here. I sent them an e-mail to find out where it is but got no response yet.
Once I get it, I'll post the specifics. |

DVR + Beta Software = Potentially Bad |

| reply to jlenkows I thought Internet Video, which I take to mean watching video content from the internet on a FIOS-connected TV, required a Media Manager software upgrade for your PC as well as a DVR software upgrade.
And, I've read conflicting things like will this involve downloaded video or streaming video. The streaming stuff I've watched on the internet, from HULU, AOL, CBS, ABC, Youtube, Jibjab, etc. is free. The stuff you must download to watch, from Itunes, etc, usually costs money.
There are wireless boxes and A/V cable kits that will allow you to watch streaming internet video on a TV, but that can run into some serious bucks.
And yet, I'm not sure I want to give up our DVR, for a one with software that might be flaky. Maybe it's best to wait. Mark F |

| reply to AFX OK... DHL delivered today....
Plugged it in... did what the docs said to do... installed the new Media Manager.... and away we go!!!!
I have streamed from the Internet (Youtube), watched MP4 files from my HDD, and watched an entire DVD from my computer -- on the screen!!!!
So far, this is a really good upgrade.
After I spend more time dorking around with it, I'll post additional stuff. |

| reply to AFX I signed up and got my box today also. Quick setup and allowed me to watch YouTube on the big screen. Took my videos of the holidays and watch via the PC on the big screen. So far, it works as intended. Would love to see how 1.6 and channel realignment does for the box, but that is still months off. |

From signing up, hearing back from them, to getting the box?
I signed up yesterday but haven't received and reply back other than the automated ones. |

Has anyone tried with Hulu.com yet? |

I believe the new 'streaming' feature with 1.6 was the ability to stream HD DVR content. Prior to 1.6 only SD content was streamable. |
