| All hail the DS :) (over 40's demographic gamer)
Ok I am not here to bash the competition
I like my Nintendo DS. I'd have bought the PSP if it was the one they had chosen Panzer Tactics for though. My decision was solely on I wanted to play that game, and wanted a convenient hand held option for dull spots away from home.
I am also a champion supporter of the following. Age of Empires: Age of Kings Steel Horizon Advance Wars (both titles). Civilization Revolution
Notice a trend? They are all turn based titles of a military slant.
I also like a lot of easy to like titles like Brain Age Clubhouse Games Tetris Tank Beat B17 Fortress of the Air Sim City Lionel Trains
And I have no real problem with atypically popular with the teen crowd games of the RPG sort.
I can acknowledge that Nintendo is "ok" with permitting the release of game after game after game after game, that isn't worth squat even as a free download. Just so long as Nintendo acknowledges the fact a lot of us DS owners are ok with using flashcartridges so that we can determine which releases are wretched examples of shovelware before we buy.
Clearly 90% of the releases according to a large section of the DS fan base, are garbage that never should have seen the light of day One can't claim the DS is great based on number of titles in the library. It's great based on the value of that last 10%.
I only have one enduring beef where the Nintendo is concerned. Too many of the makers of my wargames normally made for PC, are of the opinion they can afford to make wargames for the DS. Even though it is clear small schlock companies can afford to make wretched trashy titles for little kids based on every lunatic type of pet imaginable. That is tatamount to wargame manufacturers claiming they are not clever enough to keep pace with Pet game software makers.
Something has to be done about that worthless line of thinking. |
