8300HDC

Well today I was moving my things to another bedroom including my tv and cable box (8300HDC) and when I hooked everything up, I noticed something weird. I plugged in the box and it starts off saying "boot" on the interface, goes blank for a few seconds, then I see what looks like an "A , E". The top part of the E is gone but I'm assuming thats what it is. Before I have someone come over and check it out, anyone know what that means?

Does the box not boot up at all? I mean, is the box still displaying that configuration after a few minutes?

It can take several minutes before your box is up and ready. At first, I also thought that my box was dead. However, if I let it there for 10 minutes, it comes back to life. What was happening was that TW was uploading/configuring my device.

A and E is actually Alt let the box finish its booting process. Turn your TV on and watch it go if you want.

Also, if you give it a while and it still does not boot up, make sure you did not swap the coax cables when you moved it. I know it sounds stupid, but even techs in the field do this every once and a while.

Agreed. You can't imagine how easy this is especially if you don't have an angle to read the labels on the back (as often is the case).
