[Connectivity] Cost of a Dial-Up Internet Service now??

I cannot determine what is the going rate for an unlimited Internet Dial-up account and need to know how much a wired telephone would cost.

Dialup costs = ?
Wired Phone coasts?

It's been a long time since I needed this info.

be gentle .
thanks

when I had dialup I had a great unlimited provider(I could even leave it on for 24 hours a day with no disconnects) for 10 a month, and the line was around 20 or 25 I guess. I know alot of people have providers for 5$, but there may be some catches with them. basically, do not pay more than 10 for a provider.

I have had Direcway/Hughes for years. I've had trouble with them some until the latest system DW7000. It is blazing fast 1 to 1.5 kbps down most of the time- Kath159

When picking a dial-up provider be sure and read the fine print in there service agreement. Most say they have unlimited service, but when you read the fine print there are limitations on how many hours you can be online each month and at one time before you get disconnected.

I see that you are in Chattanooga, TN. You can check out AT&T for phone service, (I think AT&T is available in Chattanooga) they also have dial-up internet and DSL. I think there DSL packages start at $19.95 a month, it's the slowest package, but a lot faster than dial-up.

If cable internet or DSL is available in your area it would probably be just as cheap to go with that considering you will have to pay for a phone line and dial-up internet. Both of those combined would probably be about the same price as cable or DSL.
