 | reply to Smith6612 I was on fastpath for 2 months when i was having issues with my line they installed new equipment and I reupped my contract for another year and it switched back to this adsl2+ interleaved instead of the g.dmt interleaved . Can I get switched back to fastpath please, I was not having any issues on it when it was on . And the line response was much better

|
 | This might be a dumb question but I have to ask, What do you mean by "even with 7.1Mbps as well." |

| Basically in some areas, you can get a higher speed than the 3Mbps speed for residential rates. By saying that, if 7.1Mbps were available to you and if you ever wanted it, your margins and attenuation is low enough where you can boost your speed to almost triple the sync rate on the downstream, same sync upstream and still keep enough margin to hold the connection with FastPath reliably. |

 | reply to Smith6612 Just wondering if it is worth the shot to move to FastPath and/or 7.1 (if available). First hop pings are currently ~ 24ms.
Here are my stats: Transceiver Revision: 6.2.0.211 Vendor ID Code: 4 Line Mode: G.DMT Mode Data Path: Interleaved Transceiver Information Down Stream Path Up Stream Path DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec) 3360 864 Margin (dB) 14.0 12.0 Line Attenuation (dB) 40.5 26.0 Transmit Power (dBm) 7.2 11.9 |

The upload occasionally syncs at 832 instead. I assume that isnt good...11.8k from CO accd to acedsl. |

1 edit | The upstream syncing improperly is because of the upstream margin. If anything it looks as though you're less than 11.8k from your exchange, it looks like something may just be adding noise to the upstream as the downstream has a good margin (18dB on the downstream at your speed is very good! Shows you're close to the exchange). Before you ask for FastPath, I'd try cleaning up your line a bit to see if you can get the upstream path margin a bit higher. If not, you can still request it but your upstream sync will lower slightly. |

 | reply to Smith6612 Thanks.
Got switched very quickly and my first hop pings have dropped from 25 ms to under 10 ms. Hope this helps as I'm on VPN all the time. |

 | reply to Smith6612 Fastpath was recommended by a friend to possibly combat my gaming lag issues. I thought I would ask here before spending a bunch of time on the telephone. Thanks for any assistance that you can give.

1 edit | reply to Smith6612 I did not read through every post in the 1st forum, but from what I skimmed through most everyone seemed pleased with the results of switching.
How often does someone make the switch to fastpath and regret it? |
