[Help Me] Connecting DI-614+ to Thomson TCM425 Cable modem

I am using a DI-614+ Wireless router for few years.
Recently I moved from ADSL to Cable and tried to connect the Cable modem Thomson TCM425 to the DI-614+ WAN link.

It worked for a short time but then the D-Link started resetting every few seconds, and can not connect.
If I take out the modem connection the D-Link is OK, the moment the WAN port is in, it starts resetting.

The DI-614+ version is the latest I found (V3.44 B01).

Any ideas? I tried disabling reconnect but it does not help

Reconnect is associated with PPPoE. Cable usually uses DHCP, not PPPoE. Have you reset the router? If not, why not do so. Then set the WAN for Dynamic IP Address and if they are still there, opt out of any and all PPPoE settings. I would de-power the cable modem and the router. wait a minute then power the cable modem and let it sync. Once ready turn power back on the Dlink.

Another consideration: Since you say your PC can connect to the cable modem properly, try cloning the MAC address from your PC to your 614. I generally set my MTU to 1500, but I doubt this is a cause of your problem.

Last, Try swapping a different Cat 5 cable for the one you are using between the cable modem and your Dlink WAN port (just trying to isolate the cable as a cause)

Hope this helps.
