Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Demo is out!

The demo is out on Xbox and I believe should be out for PS3 today as well. I have played through it twice already, and I thought it was just amazing. It's going to take a bit more playing to become better with the controls and using the right combos. I wasn't sure if I was going to purchase the game or just gamefly it, but now I'm thinking I will buy it. I'm in the process of uploading my playthrough to Youtube right now, so I will edit that in after it finishes.

Glad to hear the demo is nice. I have had this on pre-order on amazon for a couple of months now. Will have to get on the 360 tonight to check it out.

I played it for about 30 minutes. it didn't really grab me. The movement and jumping/fighting felt awkward yet appears to be the whole game. Devil may cry does it so much more smoothly and that is a much older series.

Great, just when my Xbox gets the RROD.....
I have had it reserved for a while as I have really enjoyed the other Star Wars games.

I thought the controls were a bit awkward as well. However after playing it a couple more times I'm starting to get used to the controls. I also found the game is more fun to play once you start figuring out the combos. My first play though I used the force push a lot because I found it to be the most powerful weapon, however after learning more combos I now don't use it that much.

I hated the controls at first but once I got used to it, I found it to be really fun. Throwing a bunch of shit at a crowd of enemies is surprisingly satisfying.

I thought the demo was no big deal. I tried it on the PS3 and although the background graphics and physics were phenominal, the character action itself was kind of archaic. Your character moves around like an old Amiga type game. Very jagged movement and fighting style. The depth of moving things in the air is often difficult to judge. The story seems compelling and the Star Wars universe speaks for itself. I just wasn't overly impressed with how the game moves. In fact, I was thinking to myself how some companies shouldn't put demos out for the fear that maybe the game just isn't that well liked. This is the kind of game that you may have bought it without trying it first, but after trying it, you may not like it. Not overly impressed.

I agree with Silvanos on this one. I was going to buy it when it comes out, but now I'll just rent it instead. I'm interested in what they are going to do with the story, but I found the game play and controls to just not be that good or fun.

I thought the demo was decent enough, but honestly though, it isn't what I was expecting. It just didn't feel as epic as they had lead us on to believe, even the AT-ST fight at the end was very underwhelming.

The force powers were very cool though, had most my fun just picking up and throwing stormtroppers around. I'll probably give it a rental, but not a purchase for me.

I liked the demo. It was really cool using some of the force powers, visuals & level looked pretty good, and I can't wait to play the whole game.

huh.. what were you guys expecting? From the first preview I expected God of War with a light saber. The demo delivered on that. It's awesome.. I can't wait to play the game.

I just sit in the first part of the TIE Fighter factory and force grab barrels and put them in the path of the TIEs.

There are some seriously neat little details. If you force grab a guy who's close to a crate or barrel they grab on for dear life. It's fun to see how long they can hold on. I'm merciful, as long as they hold on they don't get chucked into a wall.

This demo is full of sociopathic moments.

I played it for a few minutes and thought it was okay. Nothing beyond amazing but nothing terrible. I'd rent/borrow it.

It's boring, nothing like god of war. The whole game is force powers and that was fun for 5 minutes.

i was impressed with the graphics and physics but i didnt like the controls at all. it was very rigid and didnt allow for much variability. i was interested but dont think i will buy it.

maybe i will try it for the wii...

I liked it alot, but I still think it could of been better. Jedi Outcast and Academy are still the best "Force" games IMO. And clunky controls for Force Unleashed is a big reason why. However; I still think I will pick this up.
