Locking LG AX8600 to EV-DO

Does anyone know how to lock the LG AX8600 to EV-DO, if it is even possible? I'm getting a full EV-DO signal when I'm not connected to the internet, but as soon as I do connect it switches to 1x. Please help if you can.
