Log in madness

Treo 755p, Sprint 'Power Vision', Blazer browser.

I have a bookmark for 'BBR text mode' and, most of the time, it loads my home page, logged in, cookie, I guess.

Sometimes, as just now, there is a 'before we take you there' password check. I give the pword and get logged into full-html mode, eventually, with a cheery little invitation to 'try text mode', a link.

Sometimes, when I hit that link, I get 'before we take you there'....
When I give pword, I get 'please log out, first'.....

Just now, the pword check, then clicking on 'text mode' got me to my text home page. However, hitting my fav 'forums' link brought me to 'before we take you there'.......
Going to 'posts' from the same text home page takes me to my followed threads page, no problem, this time.

argh

Make sure you are using dslreports.com urls rather than a broadbandreports.com urls.

Well, the bookmark I saved in the phone's browser has for the url: text.dslreports.com/forum

Beyond that, I am using only links in the pages presented to me.

It may be that the page is getting cached somewhere.

Next time when you are about to hit the link that from past experience unexpectedly will give you the repeat request to login again, refresh first (is there an equivalent) or add a random number to the end of the URL then reload. like ?123

see if that fixes it.

Yeah, I've run into that caching deal, wish I could turn it off. Roger, wilco.

I have adjusted the password reconfirmation screen to not chuck you out of text.dslreports.com and added a random number to at least one of the "next" urls it sends you to, perhaps that will be sufficient..

Hey, thanks. I'll report back after I've had some time to try it.

Anything ever come of it?

So far, so good! I haven't tested, much, but, maybe a half-dozen visits on the Treo since my last post, cookies seem to be taking care of me, haven't needed to log in once!

My bookmark on the Treo takes me to my text home page but the topic reply notification link in email takes me to 'full-blown' html. That's not so problematic.
