Any progress in solving toll-free dialing on new servers?

VTBrenden or other VTers,

Are you making any headway with resolving the problem with toll-free dialing on the new servers? I've been keeping one of my two lines registered to one of the older servers to keep toll-free dialing capabilities. Today, when testing toll-free dialing on gavaltron I'm consistently getting the message that the call cannot go through with the digits "032" at the end of the message. (Before, I've often just gotten dead air--maybe this is progress if it helps you resolve the issue.)

I'm on galvatron right now and have no problems calling 800 and 866 toll-free numbers.

Are you getting that error for a regional toll-free number or all toll-free numbers? What do you get when you dial TellMe (1-800-555-1212), Domino's Pizza (1-800-366-4667), or Pizza Hut (1-866-293-5342)?

See ya...

I get the same message for all 3 numbers you listed telling me the call could not go through (the number cited at the end of the message actually has 2 zeros--0032). I even configured the adapter for the new server--optimusprime, same results. I've had no problems dialing other numbers on the new servers--it's just toll-free. When I switch back to the old servers, I can dial toll-free with no problem. I'm not the only one reporting this issue. I'm surprised you can make any toll-free on the new servers.

Are you sure the SIP INVITEs are going to ViaTalk's servers and not any of the other providers you use (like FWD, PBXes, Freedigits, or SIPBroker)?

Can you get a packet capture of your 800-number session that uses ViaTalk? The session should have:
- "SIP INVITE" from you
- "SIP 100 Trying" and "SIP 100 Giving a try" with the modified out_uri from ViaTalk
- "SIP 200 OK" with a "Contact:" header and SDP that points to Level3's media gateway.
- "SIP ACK" from you.

See ya...

I have the same problem if I use the new servers. For whatever reason, if I use the new servers my ANI doesn't get passed on to the called number.

Are the 888 numbers that you cannot reach regional toll-free numbers or national toll-free numbers?

Since the new server setup forces all 1-8XXX-XXX-XXXX numbers through Level3's LA server, it might mean that regional toll-free numbers would not accept the charge for an out-of-regional inbound call.

What's the number? I'll try it from a POTS line in the NE Ohio region serviced by SBC/at&t.

See ya...

im_chandave,

I'm sure the SIP invites are going to Viatalk, I use the ATA that ViaTalk provided for my Viatalk lines. (I have a one-line IP phone registered to Pbxes that I use for other services.) I'll try the to capture packets on a toll-free call while on one of the new servers. At least I'm now consistently getting a message that the call cannot be connected, when this problem first surfaced while the new servers were still in beta I just got dead air.

That's really strange!

I just called my UMS system via the 1-866 toll-free number and it correctly identified me calling from my ViaTalk phone number.

If you have no problems with revealing your phone number to me, then I'll PM you my UMS toll-free number and my mailbox. You an then leave a message and I'll tell you what number my UMS system saw.

See ya...

hmm....Which ATA did ViaTalk give you? The PAP2 or the PAP2T?

Maybe this is ATA related. I use an Asterisk 1.2.x box to communicate with ViaTalk's servers. That's working fine. I also know that an SPA2002 also works with the new systems. Since the SPA2002's firmware is very similar to the PAP2, then it might also work properly with the PAP2. But, the PAP2T is a different beast altogether. Maybe it needs additional configuration changes.

I've confirmed no ANI by calling into our Qwest and Verizon trunks at work. This seems specific to something in my account -- I get the same behavior on the galvatron and megatron if I point my PAP2T directly at them to register, or if I route the calls through my Asterisk server (v1.4.21.2).

The output is clearly coming from the PSTN world when dialing 800 numbers. Here's the sample audio: »www.hearaduckquack.com/800call.au

I just tried calling the BOA Small Business services number 7 times in a roll. Only once did I not have audio.

Here's a list of the Level3 LA media gateways used during the the call and a status on whether the call connected properly or not.

Unfortunately, I didn't capture the RTP stream on the unsuccessful call. But, for the other successful calls I connected to BOA's IVRS system (with the lovely glockenspiel music).

Could you try the stuff I suggested to degauss1 See Profile in the following post http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20905875-. Just ignore the stuff about the D-Link if your not behind a D-Link router.

See ya...

I called DirecTV via their 800 number and got in with no trouble. I didn't try caller ID (I called from my second line. If you call from your account phone number it doesn't ask you for your number).

Which of the new servers are you on? Try dialing these nationwide toll free numbers and see if you can connect (I currently cannot).

I'm able to connect to all the numbers listed with no issues. I have no problems at all with toll free since I followed the step provided by d.c in this post »Re: New Network Update .

I am having the same issue on the new servers. For most calls to toll free numbers I get a message ending with "0032".

Also, my caller ID is not passed to any number I am calling (I show up as anonymous). Tried both the megatron/galvatron servers.

Hi,

Can you please PM me your number and some times and numbers you have called where you have had this issue? It sounds like it may be something specific to certain numbers as we process enough TF calls that if there were a system wide issue we would be very aware of it.

It sounds like it might be specific to certain Viatalk subscriber accounts. For me if I use the old servers I can originate calls and everything works exactly as it should. On the new servers none of my outbound calls have ANI 100% of the time.

Edit: The behavior has changed today. Now if I use megatron and dial 800-444-4444 or 866-MY-ANI-IS it reports my ANI as being 585-000-0000. I still can't dial most other 800 numbers on the new servers though.
