We just got some new hardware to upgrade our server distribution layer. We got them on Dells quarter end special each at $1,500 with three free 3110cn printers. I don't recall what the two RPS cost us, but it was not much.

I have some issues with the current firmware, but before we got them I confirmed with an engineer that they will be fixed in the next release due sometime in Q3. The current release is limited to only a single DHCP relay.
I know they are just Dell's. If this were three years ago when Dell first go started in the switch market I would not even think about them. Actually we did, and paid for it then with the 3048 series. Those really sucked. Iv been reading good things about these though, and the cost is hard to ignore.
When giving options to management they tend to pick the cheaper solution. I was also looking at Force10, HP, Cisco, and Dell. I guess we will see how happy everyone is after they get deployed.

Mostly got them for network segmentation/security, failover, and get ready for an iSCSI SAN.

They are loud but they are good switches.
Did you happen to get any of the stacking modules?
We have some older 6024C's and are looking at getting a couple more of the 6248's with stacking options in them. |

| No, we didn't get the stacking modules. We are going to be using VRRP between two of them at each of our server rooms.
