| Cannot Change Email "Password incorrect or not supplied"
If I try to change my email address at url "http://www.dslreports.com/prof?r=219" I get a "Password incorrect or not supplied..." error message. When I retry by just typing in my password without changing the email it goes through successfully. Tried this from multiple hosts & multiple browsers after clearing cookies. Diffed the packet dumps from MSIE and the passwords posted to /doprof match. WTF? |

| Does your password you are typing contain more than 12 characters? If so, try typing just the first 12 characters on this page: »/prof
If other pages let you type more than 12, they are still only accepting the first 12 characters. -- Female monkeys often utter loud, distinctive calls before, during or after sex.. |

| My password is exactly 12 characters. I tried /prof to no avail. It redirects to /doprof and I get the same error. When I tried to change my password from /prof/passwd, I got:
To change passwords, Enter new password into both fields You must also supply your old password. FYI, I already killed my old sessions and have tried it two XP boxes with both MSIE6 & a leading alternative. |

| reply to TruQaam2050 I'm sorry about the spurious "validation" emails you may have received.
In order to verify this problem I did have to login as you, and I did change your email (and change it back again). I couldn't find the problem.
All I did was go to »/prof and enter a fake new email, and type your current 12 character password, and push "update profile" and the change was accepted.
The code to change your email (and the password check) is only done if you actually enter an email address that is different than the one on file. I did that, I changed your email to a non existent one, then changed it back. I was logging in as you, on Safari. |

I never verified the original address. Do you think this is why it did not accept the change? |
