Kind of dumb to pass up a better Madden iteration just because the demo didn't include(and doesn't have to) better testing/playability. It's just a demo after all.
Try out the game somehow(rent or borrow from a friend), it's good if you liked the past Madden games, and are a football fan. |

I can't really stand the Monopoly they have on the NFL video game market. It allows them to release subpar games with minimal changes year in and year out with the consumer having no other choice but to turn to Madden for an NFL video game experience. I still enjoy my Madden 05 on PS2 than Madden 07 on 360. (i played 08 on 360 and didn't like it at all). |

| I felt the same way you did. I have hated Madden since as long as I can remember. I loved the NFL 2k series. I've been trying Madden every year hoping the game will change and it hadn't, until this year.
This year the game feels and plays a whole lot different. I would suggest giving it a try as I was totally surprised at how well the game played. The only complaint I have so far is that it seems the Offense never goes offsides. Last year it happened all the time, this year never. -- Mets, Cowboys, Devils |

Why should I go through all of that to try out a game? Shouldn't that had been the point of the demo? -- Join the BBR MLB 2K7 League The internet is a series of tubes.. |

| reply to Delvar Probably the fastest I'd ever deleted/uninstalled a demo from a console in my life.
The Madden IQ test is heinously broken in the state that it gives you. First off, the game never shows you those button prompts above your player's head when you want to evade someone... why show it for something that's supposed to test your aptitude in running effective running plays? Or why there wasn't a full formation to test against? It was effectively like getting the Teacher's copy of a test for this section.
The Passing offense is also equally insulting to someone's intelligence. I appreciate seeing the routes the WR's are prescribed, but there's no reason to have ONLY ONE WR AT A TIME for what is supposed to test me. If anything, it should have had at least three the whole time, and allow the player to pick between them and see how far they get that way. That would have yielded more accurate testing, personally.
Both defensive "tests" were a joke, flipped the wrong way toward the player. The fact that the "test" always seemed to pit you controlling the slowest player on the virtual field, it made effective defensive near impossible for me on the run, and on both counts, it ended up being my A.I. allies that helped me get any points at all.
Run Offense - All Madden Pass Offense - All Pro Run Defense - Rookie Pass Defense - Pro (and that was purely because of the A.I. helpers)
Because of the holy-shit jacked difficulty on offense, it became impossible to make a single play work in the proceding "Madden Moment." Nothing I could try or do allowed me to make it to finish the thing.
"The game that adapts to your level," MY ASS!
Demos are supposed to be made to show off the best or most realistic experience for a user that is interested in buying the game. All the Madden 09 demo has shown me on both platforms is that it is still a broken piece of shit that isn't even worth 10% of its MSRP. |
