| reply to sjprep06 Re: Refrigerator recommendations?
If you are going for a budget fridge, go with a Roper as someone else suggested. I have 2 x 32 unit apartment bldgs that I maintain. Starting in 2003 we started swapping out the old fridges and went with Roper 15 cf'ers, based on price. I can honestly say that I haven't has a problem with any of them. They're not the fanciest, but they get the job done. If you check, you will find that Roper is made by Whirlpool. |

My dad worked for Roper for 40+ years and GE bought out Roper for the factories and sold the name to Whirlpool. |

| Roper has always been a good name, as has Woods, at least the older stuff. Lots of ppl will dish out big bucks for the *looks*, and it isn't going to last any longer than the cheaper models. I had a Woods chest freezer that was close to 22 years old and it was still going when I ditched it. I would love to see that with the new stuff . |

| Its just that this guys is looking for simple and cheap. $400-700 max.
My neighbor has a beautiful 26 Samsung but it doesn't meet this OP's objective.
Sorry. Didn't mean to sound bitchy. You know how easy it is to get off track. I'm guilty. |

| reply to 8744675 There are only about 3 manufacturers who make all the name brand appliances. Three US-headquartered manufacturers (though they largely manufacture in Mexico). There's also the Korean manufacturers (LG, Samsung), the European ones (Bosch, Miele, etc), Chinese (Haier) and even New Zealand (Fisher & Paykell) |
