jrock444 : yeah good idea, pirates can work together to clear maps.

i haven't thought of a good permanent method, because wind direction will change what quadrants will be most efficient each reset.

But if you are at the same port, those pirates could message each other and say "i'll take up if wind is blowing east or west, and left if wind is blowing north or south" -- the other pirate would do the opposite. (example, if wind was blowing south, you would cover southwest quadrant, and other pirate would cover southeast quadrant). Then try to cover that quadrant as much as you can before you have to start backtracking against the wind. First move would always be a straight line going in the direction you chose, to prevent both people sailing in the direction the wind was blowing from center square and duplicating that line.

Squall winds would throw a spoke into that strategy, tho...

?? Dunno. I'm sure we will come up with better methods as the round progresses.

Smatchimo : to further the efficiency of this new feature for our fleet, i suggest we tell certain players to go certain ways at certain ports...

i.e.: id take top left quadrant, jrock takes top right, etc etc... that is when we have time to coordinate such diabolical schemes. but imagine being able to sail to st croix and clean up all the while dodging reefs. then those enough powerful to do so would hit up all the spanish and brits.

--
.

jrock444 : If you choose not to do the overview method for your screen captures, PLEASE include at least ONE corner in your image. If you don't have at least one corner, it is impossible to determine the location of the reefs/islands/sandbars for someone using your image as a map.

ALSO, please name your image date first, then time... this way it is easy to quickly scan the album entries, and determine relevant images for you to use without having to pull up the image so you can see when it was taken.

thanks

jrock444 : There is a fleet photobucket account to be used for the sharing of port maps. Sandbars, islands, and reefs should be identical for all players... so it is extremely helpful in conserving your nav points.

Login and password info will be provided in game to all new recruits as soon as they are accepted to fleet.

There is an individual album for each port.

When taking your screen captures, I suggest clicking the blue book at the bottom of your explore seas screen -- it gives an overview that displays the entire map, as well as the date and time. I loaded one up under the San Pedro album for an example.

I suggest putting the date and time in your filename, so it is easily read -- (7-28 4.49pm.jpg_) -- without having to click on the photo.

This thread is to discuss anything related to the account - procedures, strategies, better methods, etc. Open for suggestions, and all comments appreciated!

(except the ones that suck.) :D

»s334.photobucket.com/albums/m405···seadogs/

See ya on the water.
