| I'm Bored.....
Stuck in the house these past few months with this broken arm has left me bored. I mean How much can a person write here, the IE Magazine and the Pines Magazine.
Has anyone got anything for me to do, write, answer or investigate. |

| reply to ghostpainter Just for grins how about an in depth study of the psychology of Internet trolls and/or of the failures to launch that spend all of their free time online. I'm sure you could find a subject or two that are worthy of a few words. You're pretty sharp and I'm sure it would be a facinating read. -- "Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT-- Proud recipient of the Sean Hannity lifetime boot. |

| Has any one experienced a roge wave beside me....We went through one that was 92 feet from trough to the crown....The Connie, suffered a similar wave in the same storm and lost 10 jets and had hundreds of injuries as the ship broached the top of the wave, then held its position in mid air for about two seconds.
I have movies of 80 foot waves moving from the north to the south in the China Sea. The bottom is only 400 feet. -- My Bloggs, »www.insidetheie.com/ »earthlogii.blogspot.com/ »vietaffairsvets.blogspot.com/ A Forecaster for HinghamWX on EarthLogIIWX. | They dont really come from anywhere. But they originate it has been discovered in almost all oceans and seas of the world.
Before 1960 they were thought to be Sea Fables, and Loyd's would most often proclaim a sinking at seas as caused by a unknown weather problem. It wasn't until a supertanker in heavy seas just happen to have s guy on the bridge with a camera.
They saw the wave coming abeam and he started shooting. He captured a wave on film 112 feet high that completely buried the 200,000 ton tanker.
Then a Caribbean Cruise Liner was hit on the tenth level by a wave on a perfectly calm night.
there are many more but 4 months ago a wave of 100 feet was seen moving along the East Coast of the Shaylyn's and was observed by the crew of a tanker bound for Burma and was also spotted by the new Satellite.
In January 2008 as many of you who watch Dangerous job, the Sea Ranger with 47 aboard was hit by a roge estimated at 75 feet in a running sea of 25 to 30 foot waves. The rivets and lines popped in the stern and it went down in 15 minutes. -- My Bloggs, »www.insidetheie.com/ »earthlogii.blogspot.com/ »vietaffairsvets.blogspot.com/ A Forecaster for HinghamWX on EarthLogIIWX. | reply to Kevin Martin The probability of the occurence of an exceptionally high wave is finite and can be predicted using Statistics of a Random Stochastic Process.
This theory suggests that one wave in 23 will be over twice the height of the average wave, one in 1175 over three times the height of the average wave, and one ~300,000 would exceed four times the height of the average sea running at the time.
There are many more factors that may be involved, as well, but I'm not going to attempt to discuss them here. -- Pain is weakness leaving the body |
