| reply to wheeled Possibly McMaster or Memorial but not likely McGill. McGill colours are red and white. McMaster is grey and maroon. Memorial University's colours are claret (a deep red) and white, which would fit that jacket. -- Need-based health care not greed-based health care. |

| reply to wheeled The colours are right for UWO and the M could stand for Mustangs.
If you're certain its an eastern school, maybe St. Mary's? -- The opinions in this post are wholly my own and in no way reflect the opinions of, or are influenced by my employer. |

| reply to mr weather said by mr weather :I always thought UWO's colours were white on purple? Or purple on white. You can reverse the colours to get that home and away look.
Or, are you telling me the colour on that jacket is blue?
Damn colour blindness.
U of Montreal is a good suggestion too. -- The opinions in this post are wholly my own and in no way reflect the opinions of, or are influenced by my employer. |

| reply to wheeled This is a family history project for my wife ,the man in the photo is her father who passed away shortly after she was born.three photos were found of her father after her mother passed...written on the back of this one is Muskoka and the other is hitchhiking to Halifax to go back to school. i am presuming there were taken one or two years before my wifes conception.
thanks for all the help so far.

Well, if he was going to school in Halifax at some point, St. Mary's University in Halifax uses an "M" in some of their sports logos and their colours are white and burgundy so that's another possibility. The "M" is not the same style as the picture but that was a long time ago. But surely someone in the family would know or family records would show where he went to university???

| reply to wheeled You can actually take the picture and send it to the Student Association for the school you think is. They will have access to the archives and be able to check.
They may not be able to do it for you, but you may get lucky.
Another option is look for some of the online associations for the various universities.
I found a jacket via Ebay, but it was the wrong one. -- »www.codecipher.com - Marking the way to tomorrow's solutions |
