When I started consulting biz checked out these guys but ended up as a sole proprietor. LLC is very attractive especially if you are concerned about E&O liability.

 Mainly laziness. At the time was doing product conceptualization work so E&O was not a big risk. Did not have inventory or debts so bankruptcy was not an issue. No employees.

I was operating out of my home so had rider for casual business use added. That way if a salesman/customer broke their leg I was protected.

If it stayed viable I would have eventually done the paperwork to LLC.
