Lol, how many of those stolen bikes were left in stupid spots and/or without bike locks... -- Life is a game of blackjack. You keep playing until you bust. |

DID I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT BEING OK?
The point I was making was that IF the owner at least attempted to be as "vigilant" as possible, they'd most likely not have their bike stolen and they wouldn't be bitching about it like there aren't more important matters in life. -- Life is a game of blackjack. You keep playing until you bust. |

The problem was you started out using 'lol' followed by implying that the victim of the crime was more responsible then the criminal by possibly leaving their bike in a place where it could have been stolen, or without a lock.
The thing about your post is, you didn't say it was ok; you condemned the victims of a crime rather then the criminals. Maybe I'm from a different part of Ontario, or I'm getting older and such but I remember when I actually could leave a bike with no lock, in a park, for two days and it would still be there when I got back. Sadly, even here those days are gone.
Rather it makes me more sad for the state of society and all the piss ass little criminals running around. |

| Um no, I'm sorry but sometimes, if the owner is too stupid and careless about their property, I won't feel as bad for them as if they at least put some effort into protecting it using some brains.
The real "sadness" of society is people are becoming stupid, too stupid that criminals are left with no other option but to take advantage of easy situations for themselves, whether it be right or wrong actions.
Don't get me wrong, I am strongly against theft like this, but if I take my bike, and leave it in the middle of the street in a really busy city with 4+ million people, leave it in a location where MANY people pass by each day, and not even locked, then all I'm saying is, it's the person's own ignorance for the loss of their property. -- Life is a game of blackjack. | That's the thing it's their property. Lock the doors, bar the windows, security systems on everything, toss the flamethrowers on the cars too? As a deterrent. No, the sadness is people feel that they can take whatever they want if it's laying around. It's simply become more prevalent in the 'me' generation.
I suppose personal morality and such is a thin and frivolous thing these days. |

| I agree with you Mashiki. I remember a time when you didn't even take the keys out the car when you parked. Sure it was Pembroke, but still. -- The opinions in this post are wholly my own and in no way reflect the opinions of, or are influenced by my employer. |
