Re: [Connectivity] Lose sync when using 1 splitter?

Ok, I just redid all the connections in the box outside and so far it stayed at 51db Is this an acceptable level?

thats what mine is at right now, 51dBmV is within range , I would stick with the way you have it now but like tshirt said, monitor it and call a tech out just to be safe, he will probably replace the outside splitters with fresh ones and check your line signal at the box outside.

It will work, but remember that signals change up and down a few points due to weather changes, and plant adjustments. if you notice trouble again, you'll probably have to have a tech visit anyway.
I'd watch (check 3 -4 times a day) the signal for a couple days.

I do have a truck setup for tomorrow but just want to make sure it's not "my" problem so I don't have to pay for the visit

I just put the splitter in after the modem for my bedroom tv and the signal went up to 54db so the splitter is costing me 3db's

3.5dB loss is typical

Ok, I'll keep an eye on it till tomorrow before cancelling the visit and see what happens, since I used to lose sync a few times a day I guess I'll know by tomorrow if it's gonna be ok or not.

Thanks for all the help

I'd keep the appointment unless it sudden gets much better on it's own (like stable a 45dB)
assuming you want to be able to keep your bedroom tv attached

Ok, I'll keep it and have them check it out. I would like to keep the bedroom tv w/o having to run a cable through the house(that's why I share it with the modem)

Thanks again.

Glad that worked out. Did he say/you happen to see what he changed?
BTW your new signal level and SnR look excellent, you should have great speeds under all conditions

They changed some of the pole to pole line, don't know how much but was told by the tech yesterday that it's rated at like 18yrs and was about 26yrs old. I'm sure they didn't change any amplifiers since I was told they were about 6k each and Gary, Indiana sure can't afford any
