Still wont allow loading of prior (to 1.10) firmware...
Still has broken UPnP...
Still has virtually ever other issue 1.10 has..
Essentially, as far as I can tell, the only thing "fixed" from 1.10, is the WAN/LAN encoded MAC address issue...
Absurd... |

Absurd... Broken UPnP? LOL. So i guess people are still blaming the firmware for lack of understanding. There are a few small issues that was in 1.10 guys...the mac address bug, mac filtering messed up, and thats it. Learn to operate the piece of hardware and not blame the software...i promise you, it will be more rewarding for you in the end. I have absolutely no issue running the beta firmware on a full house full of comps, and game consoles.. |

| A favor, please:
So that we can get good information out there and avoid "does too" "does not" arguments, please include specifics in any trouble posts. Give a description of the symptom, the environment, any actions you took to remedy and if flashing back corrected it. "Feature ABC is broken" isn't very helpful.
Thanks. |

Because I am tempted to try it, if you upgrade the firmware can you downgrade with this new firmware? I know 1.10 you couldn't whats the deal here?
If you can go back to another firmware I will try it. |

| reply to Reinvent3d 1.11 Beta - "Latest firmware version 160.04 is available" in log
This isn't a huge issue, but the logs on my DGL-4500 (running the 1.11 beta firmware) still tell me there is a newer firmware available:
[INFO] Sat Aug 02 05:08:10 2008 Latest firmware version 160.04 is available [INFO] Sat Aug 02 05:08:10 2008 Firmware upgrade server wrpd.dlink.com.tw is at IP address 210.242.32.129 [INFO] Sat Aug 02 05:08:09 2008 Time synchronized [INFO] Fri Aug 01 21:03:39 2008 Requesting time from 69.31.13.210 [INFO] Fri Aug 01 21:03:39 2008 Time server us.pool.ntp.org is at IP address 69.31.13.210
This message is approximately 20 lines from the beginning of the log.
Previously it said, "[INFO] Fri Aug 01 20:51:23 2008 Latest firmware version 10.20 is available", so it is definitely getting this information from somewhere (wrpd.dlink.com.tw).
Has anyone else seen this?
I haven't tried downloading it because of the issues I had with 1.10 and because it doesn't seem right that it should jump from 1.11 to 160.04.
Other than this, I'm not having any noticeable issues with 1.11 Beta.
I use my older Linksys WRT-54G (v5 with DD-WRT v24 firmware) to connect to the DGL-4500 and form a wireless bridge. I do this so I don't have to run an Ethernet cable across the apartment and have Internet access at my workbench. This still works great so I'm quite happy. |

"Because I am tempted to try it, if you upgrade the firmware can you downgrade with this new firmware?"
No. As I stated in my previous post, you still cannot load previous firmware (including 1.10 actually, i misstated the version). It will only allow loading of 1.11.
"I know 1.10 you couldn't whats the deal here?"
Same deal. |

We've had 1.02, aren't all other firmware updates beta's? Was 1.03 ever actually taken from beta to full release? If not, are 1.03, 1.10 and 1.11 similar versions of each other?
I do however remember switching to 1.03 and you could switch back to 1.02, I don't understand why you can't on the new beta's. |

Some people mentioned you might not be able to downgrade firmware due to DNS issues, which could have also been patched via router firmware. Again, that was only speculation...
But, I don't believe that was it. I'm sure someone just really messed up. |

@rr.com | reply to PosterDude Does anyone know why they pulled the 1.11 beta off their FTP site? Its not their anymore, so is D-link going to fix this issue anytime soon? |

join:2004-12-06 Camarillo, CA | They pulled it because they are working on a new FW and a final release. There of course were still some errors in 1.11 B02, but if you'd like it, send me a PM and i'll send it to you. |

@rr.com | reply to PosterDude New 1.12 firmware update available for download on the FTP site. Its not a beta so I think this might have fixed many issues. |
