I wish there was a way to go back to 1.03. Is there a trick to doing it? |

@rr.com | reply to PosterDude I would avoid this firmware. MAC address filtering no longer works for me after upgrading to the 1.10 firmware.
I hope they have a fix soon or someone figures out a way to roll back the firmware. |

| reply to PosterDude I'm glad I'm not the only one having issues with 1.10.
I'm having the following issues: 1. The embedded web server in the router is EXTREMELY slow in both Firefox and IE, while web pages from the Internet (not built into the router) load at a normal speeds.
I've tried another computer, other browsers, turning off pop-up blockers, rebooting the router, completely powering off and disconnecting it, reverting to factory defaults, downgrading the firmware, reinstalling 1.10 from a fresh download, etc... and no luck at clearing this up. 2. I had issues with MAC address filtering but I have not tried it again because of issue #1. 3. I am unable to revert back to 1.02.
I have not checked to see if the MAC address has changed. Perhaps 1.10 was released with generic MAC addresses embedded in the firmware. This could be a mess to resolve for D-Link. It may require users to change their MAC address themselves before/after updating to a fixed firmware.
I contacted D-Link technical support earlier today (7-22-08) via email, but have not heard back yet. |

@ontera.net | I emailed them when it first happened. They sent me back the typical it must be something you did reply and said they would pass it along to the powers that deal with that crap. |

| reply to PosterDude I received that email this morning that 1.10 was out so I upgraded. My MAC address changed as well but to something different than what you see. I also experience slow webpage load times compared to 1.02 as well as the inability to filter by MAC address. Hopefully they remedy this problem soon. |

| Well that stinks. I should have found this before upgrading. The 1.10 killed my working psp to ps3 remote play over the internet function. Now my PS3 turns itself on by itself probably because of the mac address issues.
Also before I saw this thread I also emailed D-Link asking how I could go back. I'll be calling here in a few minutes as I'm more mad after reading this thread. |

| reply to PosterDude said by PosterDude :
Also, as a previous poster mentioned, the new firmware doesn't recognize and therefore wont upload older firmware versions. The "super hard reset" firmware upload method (for D-Link gateways in general) probably works, I just haven't had the time (or inclination yet) to test it out (I will soon though).
If the metod you are referring to is loading the router back up with the reset button held it doesn't seem to work with this device. I tried it a few differen't ways with no luck. |

Attention: Once you upgrade to firmware 1.10, you will not be able to downgrade to previous firmwares. |

| reply to MPDamon D-Link pulled the firmware from there site. In the D-Link forums they have posted.
We pulled the 1.10 code because of issues reported here and in our internal CRM database. We are working diligently on a correction for those that upgraded and can no longer use MAC filtering or are experiencing other firmware related issues. We apologize for this inconvenience. |

| LCD still works fine here.
I originally got a 4500 because my 4300 had a bad flash, and I just found out how to reflash it properly. Works fine now with 1.7 FW. So, now I'm thinking about replacing it permanently until they can get the 4500 working well.
I'm not sure which i want to use at this point, because i'm so very disappointed. |

| Great News!!! - Conflict between 1.10 FW and Avast! AV
Great news!!! I found this on Avast's website:
»avast.com/eng/avast-4-home_pro-r···ory.html
Version 4.8.1229 July 23, 2008
* Web Shield: solved compatibility problems with Opera browser * Web Shield: solved problems with some D-Link router devices
I loaded the update and now I can see the embedded web pages just as quickly as before in Firefox 3.0.1.
This doesn't fix the MAC address issue, but it is a step in the right direction.
I hope this helps someone out there. |

| reply to PosterDude Re: DGL-4500 NEW Firmware 1.10 Released
after much crying and whining with dlink tech support about this issue they offered to RMA my 4500 and send me a new one.
I refused as there should be a fix before it would come back from RMA and that I just wanted some satisfaction. My request was then that whomever let 1.10 be released to the public should get a stern spanking.
they are looking into it |

| reply to PosterDude DEFINATELY DO NOT upgrade to this excuse of a firmware. I found the issues with it unfortunately the day it was released. After the typical "it must be something you have done", and after numerous comical attempts of the tech trying to walk me through going back to 1.02 (like I didnt try that right off the bat). I was informed they would ship me a new replacement with the 1.02 firmware. Imagine my surprise (or lack there of) when the "new" (refurb)replacement came in with 1.10 loaded on it....especially since they pulled 1.10 from their website. Now I am trying to get one of these damn things shipped back to them...I would much rather keep mine instead of a refurb they sent....Good luck getting through to them as well... |

| One of the moderators and tech support guys on the official DLink forums mentioned they would have new code for the DGL-4500 as early as this week. So, maybe expect it next week at the earliest.
Yeah, and if they sent you a replacement with 1.10 loaded on, you really need to get it escalated to level 3. |
